Exciting cast announcements have been made for Steven Moffat's new thriller Inside Man, set to debut on BBC One and Netflix. David Tennant (Des; Staged; Doctor Who), Dolly Wells (The Pursuit Of Love; Dracula; Can You Ever Forgive Me?), and Lydia West (It’s A Sin; Years And Years; Dracula) will headline the series, joining Stanley Tucci (Feud; The King’s Man; Spotlight) in the lead role of the titular character. Produced by Hartswood Films for BBC One and Netflix, the production will be helmed by Paul McGuigan (Sherlock; Dracula; Film Stars Don’t Die In Liverpool). The four-part mini-series explores the lives of a death row prisoner in the United States, a quiet English town's vicar, and a maths teacher confined in a cellar, as their fates intertwine in a surprising manner. Steven and Sue Vertue, the executive producers, remarked: 'We're astonished by the caliber of talent we've gathered for this project. We're eager to emerge from our lockdown and bring this story to life.' Piers Wenger, BBC Drama Director, expressed enthusiasm: 'BBC One audiences will recognize the magic Steven Moffat brings to David, Dolly, and Lydia's performances. The 4x60-minute series is created and written by Moffat, directed by McGuigan, and produced by Alex Mercer. Executive producers include Sue Vertue for Hartswood Films and Ben Irving for the BBC, with Chris Sussman overseeing the Netflix production. Commissioned by BBC Chief Content Officer Charlotte Moore and Piers Wenger, the series will premiere on BBC One and BBC iPlayer in the UK, while Netflix will stream it internationally. Filming is scheduled to commence later this year.
